A superb pair of rare antique 9ct gold backed paste earrings from the Georgian era . The paste stones are beautifully set into sterling silver collet settings, with a small teardrop shaped paste stone swinging gently in the centre . The paste stones all catch the light and glitter in a stunning manner , true glistening candies for the ears . Brand new 9ct gold earring backs have been added to wear these dangling beauties .
Era: No hallmarks , Georgian era
Sizing: approx 4.05g combined, approx 2cm from bale to bottom, approx 1.3 cm width from widest edge to edge
Condition: Great antique condition . There are two small stones on one earring to the bottom left that have a slightly discoloration , on the reverse on this earrings there is a teeny ding to the centre dangling stone . One the other earring the centre dangling stone is testing higher than glass (possibly quartz) and is again a slightly different colour . This doesnt seem too noticeable because the way paste stones are foiled and catch the light means this works quite well , casting a beautiful array of colours .
